| Cheyenne Logistics Hub at SWAN Ranch The Industrial component is the first phase of development at SWAN Ranch and will total 1,300 acres. A pipe manufacturing and coating company has committed to purchasing 55 acres in the Cheyenne Logistics Hub mainly because of the rail access. The Union Pacific Railroad borders the hub to the west and BNSF Railway borders the hub to the south and east. Several other companies have expressed interest in this area due to the access to two Class I railroads and two major interstate highways, I-25 and I-80. The proximity to the Front Range and I-70 is also a bonus. Logistically this location makes sense for manufacturing and distribution companies. With the help of Laramie County and Cheyenne LEADS, an economic development organization, a $3 million Business Committed grant has been approved. The Wyoming Business Council grants state funds for infrastructure projects that promote economic development. Construction on roads and wet utilities will begin soon. The overall project costs will exceed $10 million for the Cheyenne Logistics Hub. The Cheyenne Logistics Hub will include a transloading facility with a third party provider. The logistic hub will partner with Bighorn Divide & Wyoming Railroad (“BDW”) to operate the facility. BDW currently runs three short line rail yards throughout Wyoming, one of which is the Casper Logistic Hub located in the center of the state. The Casper Logistics Hub and the Cheyenne Logistics Hub are owned by partners in Granite Peak Development. Please visit www.casperlogisticshub.com for more information. |
