| Wyoming ranked third in Pollina’s Corporate Top-10 Pro-Business Report
CHEYENNE – Wyoming has once again been recognized as one of the best places in the United States to do business with a third-place ranking in Pollina’s Corporate Real Estate’s Top-10 Pro-Business States for 2010. The prestigious annual study of job retention and creation measures a state’s economic development prowess. It is considered to be one of the most comprehensive, unbiased and unvarnished of its type for evaluating and ranking states based on 31 factors controlled by state government, including taxes, human resources, education, right-to-work legislation, energy costs, infrastructure spending, workers compensation laws, economic incentive programs and state economic development efforts Wyoming’s ranking is a testament to its pro-business commitment. “Our ranking demonstrates that Wyoming is a top choice for business expansion and relocation,” said Wyoming Business Council CEO, Bob Jensen. “We’re pleased to be recognized again and will continue to work hard to be an attractive place to work and do business.” Brent Pollina, vice president of Pollina Corporate Real Estate and author of the study, says the results add credibility to Wyoming’s claim as an extremely attractive business climate. “Wyoming is a solid and consistent Pollina Top 10 Pro-Business State placing third for 2010, moving up one place in this year’s overall ranking. It has been a consistent winner in economic development ranking among the Pollina Top 10 Pro-business States since the study was started in 2004,” Pollina said. Wyoming prides itself on being a right-to-work state with no individual income taxes, no inventory tax, and generally low operating costs for business. With no individual income taxes and a second-place ranking for business income taxes, the state has an overall attractive tax position. Wyoming has the lowest cost of electricity ranking and an excellent high-school completion rate as well as high teacher compensation.
